If I remember these things, everything will be ok

  • Leave work at work, once you've left for the day you can't do any more about it anyway
  • Work is just work, spending time and special moments with family is the most important thing
  • No matter what, my favourite job will always be that of "Mum", and there is always positive feedback to be given in the form of laughter, cuddles and kisses
  • Regular exercise keeps energy levels up and makes you feel good
  • There's nothing wrong with treats, occasionally. Wine, chocolate, and chips for me, biscuits, hot chips and tv for Mia
  • Stopping to witness a 20-month-old's delight in a simple wind-up toy is much more important than trying to get the vacuuming done as quickly as possible
  • Pause to appreciate the smaller details - the breeze through your hair, the morphing shape of a cloud, a team of ants working together...
  • Pre-dawn air is the most invigorating and purifying
  • Being able to access fresh food, and having the skills to turn those fresh ingredients in to tasty, nutritious meals that my little family enjoys, is a real gift and one of the most satisfying things I can do
  • Always keep making plans, and daydreaming
  • Try not to take out your frustrations on those who are undeserving, especially the people you love
  • Treat your body well, you're the only one who can. Don't take your physical health for granted
  • Take the occasional day off, relax and only do things you want to do. Don't take your mental health for granted
  • Balance is the key
  • When all else is failing, remember this too shall pass

  4. Ohh... great advice Janelle. Not sure about the pre-dawn air though... I tend to breathe that whilst I am asleep! :-)

  5. Thank you Adam! I don't always have sensible advice to give myself, so I thought it was a good idea to note it all down while it was in my head!

Thanks Anna, sometimes we all need a reminder don't we? It's easy to forget what's important and just get caught up in what needs to be done in the here and now.

Lisa - I hope your find your motivation again soon. I'm still not feeling 100% like my normal self, but getting there.

Lisa H - Haha, early morning exercise is not everyone's cup of tea Lisa! But I swear, it's the best way to clear your head and a great start to the day!

  6. So important to have these reminders clear in our minds. It is so easy to get lost in the crazy, don't you think?

Reminds me of a line from Ferris Bueller's Day Off - "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it". You are probably too young to remember it?

    Thanks for Rewinding x

Haha, thanks but no, I'm not too young to remember that movie! Can't remember specific lines though, but that one's a goodun'!
